![]() Try one, I think you'll find the audio much clearer and fuller when using an external Lucid or Aardsync clock. When locking decks to dig, I've found it better to slave the analog deck from the computer via a syncronizer than trying to have the computer attempt to lock to the deck. Have you ever tried locking the Otari deck to a syncronizer like a Lynx "Timeline II"? You seem to be talking about the ability to lock to 'longitudinal time code' as opposed to clock "jitter characteristics", or am I not understanding again? The 'USD' is the only one of those that will do 'varispeed', so I would assume it would lock better than the others. the Timemachine is a really powerful unit, check out: Other game with USD and worse: Rosendahl.ītw. The breakthrough technology behind them is a result of a 25-year constant innovation into the Pro audio industry. I could not hear any difference between A8000 internal to A8000 synced by superclock to a Timemachine (internal). Master Clocks FUSION OF FLAWLESS CLOCKING TECHNOLOGIES Our high-end master clocks can be found in all the best studios around the world. USD and Timemachine worked well - the Timemachine got a more consistent lock-behaviour than the USD, while the Rosendahl kept changing the phase of the two tracks once locked. If you dont have a dedicated word clock generator, you could choose one of the digital audio devices in your system to be the word clock master and slave all. ![]() As previously reviewed, the internal oscillator, if desired, can be 'locked' to an external source. The underlying timing source for the word clock output is derived from the Model 5401s main timing source. I made several tests comparing USD vs Rosendahl vs Timemachine when synced to LTC off 24Track Otari/Studer:Ĭomparing the phase of a Click from tape to same Click recorded to ProTools synced by the different devices (AD/DA through A8000) compensating the conversion delay of approximately 100 (30 Samples more than 888/24  ) Samples: The word clock output rate can be selected to be 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96 kHz. Is this a 'listening' thing? A 'looks better on paper' thing? What? Have I spent any real amount of time with the 'Rosendahl' (or is it Rosenthal?), so I'm curious why you say one is superior to I've never heard of the 'Timemachine by C-Lab', nor Would you be kind enough to explain how you came to this conclusion. Without a Master clock time is controlled by the Word Clock's built in temperature compensated real time clock. ![]() The clock can be stand alone or run as a slave off a Master Clock if required. If you have to sync to tape or video consider the Timemachine by C-LabĪnd stay away from rosendahl as a clocksource! There are also modes for digital clock, analogue clock, temperature & humidity, & also three games, Game of Life, Simon & Tetris. ![]()
